Following the cadence of the city that never sleeps, Steve Maloney's "Broadway Series" incorporates the bright lights and enduring metabolism of New York's theater district into vibrant colors and energetic shapes and lines. The results are expressionistic depictions, almost psychedelic-in-color, tempered by boldly caricatured lines and colorful neon signs. Maloney's flowing freedom of style and color set a joyful mood to any setting, and add the perfect bit of humor to everyday New York.
The freshness of style and tremendous energy expressed in Maloney's brushwork clearly demonstrate his immense enjoyment of the post-modernistic approach.
