The contemporary Maloney Gallery, located in the historical La Flecha building in Rancho Santa Fe, brings artistic excitement to the old west. It was started by husband and wife artists in 2002 who paint 'bold, big and right' but in their own distinct styles and the prolific couple exhibits other contemporary art as well. Yvonne paints wonderfully romantic Matisse like ladies and vibrant flowers that surrounded her life. Her latest colorfully impasto portfolio shows yet another new expressiveness.
Steve on the other hand is the noisy one, crafting a series of electric Broadway paintings with animation DVD panels. Recently, Steve finished a portfolio from NASCAR parts in his series "This Is Where The Rubber Meets The Road". He captured in his sculptural collages all the combustible energy and chaotic inevitability of Sunday afternoons at the racetrack.
